Edit report at http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=54927&edit=1 ID: 54927 User updated by: gilles dot bouthenot at univ-fcomte dot fr Reported by: gilles dot bouthenot at univ-fcomte dot fr Summary: documentation changelog is meaningless Status: Open Type: Documentation Problem Package: Documentation problem Operating System: irrelevant PHP Version: Irrelevant Block user comment: N Private report: N New Comment: This sentence is (IMHO) more clear. (and understandable !) Hope it will replace the incomprehensible sentence in the documentation. Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2011-05-25 17:44:37] bjori@php.net realpath("/etc/this-file-does-not-exists"); used to return /etc/this-file-does- not-exists on BSD systems. as of 5.3.0 this is no longer the case. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2011-05-25 16:32:42] gilles dot bouthenot at univ-fcomte dot fr Description: ------------ --- From manual page: http://www.php.net/function.realpath#Changelog --- The sentence : "Prior to this release realpath() would not fail on *BSD systems if only the last path component did not exist. " is completely meaningless. Please rewrite it ! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=54927&edit=1
