Edit report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=46704&edit=1 ID: 46704 Updated by: frozenfire@php.net Reported by: philip@php.net Summary: --with-php-config and php-config missing docs Status: Assigned Type: Documentation Problem Package: Documentation problem Operating System: Mac PHP Version: Irrelevant Assigned To: frozenfire Block user comment: N Private report: N New Comment: I forgot to include the bug id in the original revision, so for reference, that revision is: http://svn.php.net/viewvc?view=revision&revision=312842 Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2011-07-03 01:57:42] frozenfire@php.net Automatic comment from SVN on behalf of frozenfire Revision: http://svn.php.net/viewvc/?view=revision&revision=312844 Log: Fixed xml:id for php-config documentation, relating to bug #46704 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2010-01-21 17:50:39] philip@php.net Trouble is, today we don't document it at all. The php-config shows plenty of information, and a brief description of this should prove useful. And we may as well have a place that lists all the bin/ files we provide, but now I'm getting off topic. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2010-01-16 22:22:20] bjori@php.net You are talking about compiling PHP extensions (like pecl, or shared "default" extensions)? These things are a "the-word-on-the-street-is-..." for various linux distributions, but by "default" there is nothing you need to do. Any reason why we should document these "external" configuration options any better then the actual _PHP_ configuration options? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2008-11-28 07:52:06] philip@php.net Description: ------------ Document --with-php-config and the php-config shell script that comes with PHP. A MAN page does exist for php-config... Also while documenting be sure to mention it within the install section, including in the pecl/phpize docs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=46704&edit=1
