Hi,
the quick reference tips on <http://www.php.net/tips.php> are very nice
(btw: there seems to be a broken link to an image in the IE5 section).
What do you think about including these quick search pages into the
downloadable PHP manual? I guess the Windows Help versions already offer
the ability to search for a given keyword, but the HTML versions don't.
In the HTML versions of the manual, there is not even an index, so
searching for a function is a bit too time consuming for my likings.
The Quick Reference Tips all refer to the online manual, but I guess
there are a lot of people who don't have an all-you-can-eat internet
connection or are locked into an intranet, without a connection to the
online manual. Most of these people probably already have a web server
with PHP installed, otherwise PHP development would be a real pita.
I already grabbed manual-lookup.php, manual-lookup.inc, prepend.inc and
quickref.php and adjusted them to work on localhost, so it's not too
much of a technical problem.
Are there any copyright problems with these files or are they as free as
PHP itsself? Any other problems with including these files?
Regards...
Michael
