This problem was first noticed by a user who reported another bug regarding the documentation and he/she requested this be fixed. 2. The problem has persisted for a long time. 3. I'm a maintainer of mbstring module, but the feature itself was not originated from me and there are two or three maintainers of it who are apparently capable of documenting it in a right way. As seeing the facts mentioned above, I supposed this should be registered to the bug database and it wouldn't bother anyone.. Moriyoshi
