James,
The translation started some time now and currently 5 people are
actively working on it while 10 more showed concern and are members
of the mailing list. The important chapters are _already_ translated and
maintained in a local CVS.
You may find the following links useful.
Note: If the content of the following links seems all greek to you, it's
because they _are_ greek =)
There's a systran greek-to-english translation engine available - which
unfortunately produces awful results - at:
http://systran.otenet.gr/
- The translation's effort homepage (hosted on Cyprus Linux User Group):
http://www.cylug.org/projects/phpmanual/
- The status of the manual:
http://www.cylug.org/projects/phpmanual/files/el-phpmanual-status.txt
- Note: Chapters with a letter on the left are already translated.
- The guidelines for the translators:
http://www.cylug.org/projects/phpmanual/files/el-guides-status.txt
- You may find the first compiled greek phpmanual here:
http://subbie.ceid.upatras.gr:8000/devel/phpdoc/el_phpmanual/
- And there's a mailing list running:
http://www.cylug.org/mailman/listinfo/list-phpmanual
Take care,
Dimitris Glezos
