you didn't improve nothing, you've broke it :)

Array (

    [0] => en

    [3] =>

    [5] =>
    [6] =>
    [7] =>
    [8] => ja

)

so if I do ./configure --with-languages="en  fr     ja" the explode call isn't efficiant. The preg_split() was taking care of this :)
