so if I do ./configure --with-languages="en  fr     ja" the explode call isn't efficiant. The preg_split() was taking care of this :)

The preg_split takes too much time to run. explode is much faster. That will only occur if you don't configure livedocs correctly. Maybe its better to change the space ' ' to a comma. ./configure --with-languages="en,fr,ja,de" What do you think of that?
