Using the openjade provided with cygwin. I have attached the output from running make html but it doesn't show the errors afterwards. For some reason they are outputted to the console. But it is like this:
/usr/bin/openjade:manual.xml:49:1:E: cannot find "C:/cygwin/home/David/phpdocen/bookinfo.xml"
/usr/bin/openjade:manual.xml:50:1:E: cannot find "C:/cygwin/home/David/phpdocen/preface.xml"
/usr/bin/openjade:manual.xml:54:2:E: cannot find "C:/cygwin/home/David/phpdocen/intro.xml"
...
