Hello,
I looked into this a while back and the PHP extension for AMQP was not
working properly with librabbitmq (it required version 0.9.1). Right now
the C extension for the protocol changed its versioning scheme entirely and
it does not seem like the PECL extension was adjusted for that.
Granted I did not try to use the extension for the last few months, but
getting in contact with the lead developer for the package and making sure
it is still supported might be a good first step.
