Hi, I believe there are many people which think PHP 4 is just enough for them. A good example of this is the vulnerabilities in Content Management Systems (Joomla / Mambo / PHPNuke / etc): the "regular Joe" won't apply new security patchs if something bad doesn't happen, like "If ain't broken, don't fix it". Also, a lot of people doesn't like to migrate versions, afraid of broken code. But, as some people already wrote, PHP4 support should end soon, as it happened to PHP3 when PHP4 was stable. yes thats true, i remember my first day learn php, at that time was transition time from 3 to 4, and i was confuse which one i should learn 3 or 4, learning curve became more high, cause i have to compare it between those two version, which one is more suitable for me, learn 3 is more easier but for future compat is not good, while learn 4 is more complicated, and at that time less hosting provider support for 4.
so i believe this "versions interest of conflict" is become .. what shall i say "the bottle neck" for new developer to learn php.
