I intend to test on a low spec Intel based system and a high spec Intel
based system respectively, each machine will remain the same apart from the
hard disk drive. My only query is whether different hard disk drives will
return seriously unfair results based on their HDD access speeds.
As I am not a HDD guru, I'm not 100% sure how this will impact testing
performance. I am undecided as to whether I should purchase a number of
HDD's of the same capacity and speed.
Andy.

results of the Microsoft vs Open Source performance tests. I am now trying
to find some spare hard drives to devote to the tests so that I can return
to them at a later date if need be.

tests. Some hard drives run faster than others and I wouldnt want to give an
unfair advantage to either side. Should I invest some cash in buying a batch
of HDD's at the moment I will need 5 for each operating system. Although a
big expense to start with, It might be worth it, What do you think.
