I'm running php 4.0.0, and Apache 1.3.12 on Windows 98. What I've been trying to do is to use a php file as a header and footer on autoindexed pages created by Apache. that is, those pages created when no index.html or index.php or whatever is present. However, Apache won't let me do this with a php file. If I use an html file, that's fine, but not php. The Apache documentation (http://www.apache.org/docs/mod/mod_autoindex.html#headername) says that cgi's should work fine if they are declared as a major type 'text' (like text/plain, text/html, etc), so I figure this should work with php as well. It doesn't, the default plain autoindexing shows up instead. Do you have any idea how I could fix this?
