__FILE__ and DOCUMENT_ROOT

I need to have one sting of the dir/file IE
sam/page2.php
but, I can't seem to add everything together right.
Here's what i have so far.
__FILE__ = /freemai/public_html/sam/page2.php
$DOCUMENT_ROOT = /home/freemai/public_html
is there a way to get
/home/freemai/public_html/sam/page2.php
Note the big problem here, is that its in an include so
$DOCUMENT_ROOT . $SCRIPT_NAME
wont do the job
