Are you using any options on your INSERT, such as INSERT DELAYED or setting LOW_PRIORITY? Maybe the record just wasn't written yet when you went looking for it. JeffNope. Nothing special. They symptoms suggest that the data, when read after the write, is read from a cache somewhere, or that the write didn't happen until some time later. Inserting a "sleep(1)" in the script cures the problem, and of course when I query by hand, the data is there, because there's no way for me to get in fast enough. -- Where's dave? http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/find.cgi?kc6ete-9
