What sort of field are you using?
If you are using a BLOB or TEXT field, then perhaps it is the way you are
gathering the data, or displaying it afterwards.
I.e. if the data is coming from a file, you might be using a function on it
to read that removes the carriages, or perhaps when you display it, you are
not using <pre></pre> tags to preserve the formatting?

Subject: [PHP] preserve text formatting
Is there any way to preserve text formatting of a string when inserting it
into a mysql database field? I know I could wrap it with some html, but I
really don't need that kind of formatting, I just need to preserve the
carriage returns and new line calls.
I was thinking maybe I was using the wrong kind of mysql field, but after
looking at the manual, I don't see anything like what I need. Is there
something in PHP that can do the job?
Thanks,
Greg
