I'd say that's an unrealistic goal, given that there is no possible way that
even half of the world's PHP developers will register with you.

This is a more realistic aim... although there are already sites doing this.

You have not included a privacy policy or statement at all. I'd be looking
for reassurance that you:
- will not sell or make available your database to others
- will not sell, use or make available your database for marketing purposes
I don't intend to sound sceptical at all, and your intentions are probably
quite pure, but the result of such a database will be a goldmine of
opportunity for you, or others to use this database as a well refined, very
focused marketing tool to a very niche target market WITH demographic
information.
I already get enough spam.
You need to form a policy on privacy, and take every reasonable measure to
make sure the information you keep is secure, or if your intentions aren't
quite so pure, you need to tell us what your intentions are.
Once again, I'm not implying that you ARE evil, only that you could be :)
The tick box "Would you like to receive email from The PHP Registry?" is
SOOOO non-descriptive, so I'd leave unchecked. May I suggest:
- "Would you like to receive email from us in regards to what's happening on
The PHP Registry Site?"
- "Would you like to receive email from us in regards to PHP products and
PHP related projects?"
- "Would you like to receive about our hot live webcom?" (joke :)
The only other comment I'll make is that the option of uploading a PDF or
.doc resume would be a lot better than a text-based resume. If you must
just keep it all in text, I hope you're using wrap="virtual" in the text
area, so that the minimalist formatting we can do with raw text is
preserved.
Good luck,
