i am not quite sure what the limitation of my database server would be as there is little data in there right now, but i can only assume that if i try to do a huge select (something like: "SELECT * FROM page_view
           WHERE userid = $userid AND previous_page = $current_page")
Thinking further on this, your server logs should already have this information, just not "boiled down". You'll have a page access for a user at a time, and another page access at another time. You'll have holes, where the time between accesses is huge, say > 10 mins, and you could assume that he left the site and came back. (depends largely on your content and useage) One way or the other though, such details will require one record per page view, and the related back-end processing to boil down the data. You could do the "boil down" on another machine though, if you don't need the data realtime. If you do, then may I suggest a quad Piii-1024 with a couple gigs of ram? :) Running Linux of course! -- Where's dave? http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/find.cgi?kc6ete-9
