Have you tried the base_convert or octdec functions?

I hope someone can help,
Is there a function to convert an 8 byte value read from a file into a real
number ?
I have tried using the built-in functions, but get meaningless answers.
I need to convert for example 00 00 00 00 00 20 5c 40 into the value 112.5
Any help would be welcome.
