I have tried using functions such as base_convert($var,16,2), and can get the binary string, but I can't get much further. Do you think octdec may be a way? I use this page to check my conversion http://babbage.cs.qc.edu/courses/cs341/IEEE-754.html I may have to write a function to do the same as this page does, but I hoped that this conversion was one somebody must have done before. I have tried using the built-in functions, but get meaningless answers. I need to convert for example 00 00 00 00 00 20 5c 40 into the value 112.5 Any help would be welcome. Thanks.
