after install php4, I can't connect to the localhost.

I install the php4.0.1pl2 to RedHat 6.2(kernel 2.2.14). I have Mysql and apxs, both of them can run well. I did the following: $ gunzip -c php-4.0.1pl2.tar.gz | tar xf - $ cd php-4.0.1pl2 $ ./configure --with-mysql --with-apxs $ make $ make install then, I can't connect to the localhost... I mean, normally, when you use Netscape to browser the http://localhost/ it will show the /home/httpd/html/index.html in your local disk, but now, it goes to the http://www.localhost.com/ I try to do this : /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd status httpd dead but subsys locked then I try to restart the httpd, it looks strange : shutting down httpd [failed]

I try to load the localhost in my Netscape, but fail again and again.. If anyone can help me to solve it, that will be great, or can anyone help me to Unistall php4?
