I'm faced with the same problem, as it seems PHP can't find the modules once
they're compiled in.
I was thinking, if I can't find a way around this, if you have openssl
installed, you could use openssl on the command line, pipe the output to a
file, and read it from there. Or you could even use Perl on the command
line. Use 'system()', I think. It's not the best way, but it's a workaround.
