Alrighty-then, since Rasmus said it was okay, I need no other
authority... :) Please excuse the long winded email here...
I run a security consulting company in Raleigh, North Carolina which
develops specialized applications for electronic security. We work with
major manufacturers in our industry to develop interfaces between
different systems and external devices. We are currently seeking one or
two highly skilled PHP programmers with experience in SQL database
application
programming. Some of the applications we're developing are remote
paging/dispatch services, RS-232/LAN interfaces to remote field panels
(alarm panels, fire alarm, HVAC), Digital Video transmission and
storage, SQL database interfaces, robotics, and wireless web devices
(WAP).
These are real world applications that work with physical and electronic
security equipment used by fortune 500 companies every day. Write code
that actually does things: moves cameras, robots, locks people out, etc.
(Security in corporate america is no longer just a bunch of ex-cops
using ancient equipment, it's high tech stuff with some very cool
applications and sleek hardware). We have rougly $250,000.00 of
hardware and software platforms to develop on, with new demo products
from manufacturer's coming in weekly.
Preferred experience: PHP on AIX, Linux, Unixware, Windows NT/2K;
Informix 4GL programming, Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, X-windows/Motif,
TCP/IP, RS232/422 I/O programming. Perl / Java experience a plus. XML
experience a plus. Zend experience a plus.
Due to the nature of these projects, this position must be in-house in
our Raleigh based office. Preference is toward a salaried employee, but
contract positions may be a viable option as well. Salary range /
contract rate is negotiable based upon experience (typically $30-75K).
Training/Books and related materials will be provided for salaried
personnel. Salaried employee benefits include
health/life/dental/disability/prescription insurance, annual bonus,
vacation/holidays, retirement plan, referral bonus program, etc.

Contact information can be found there, or reply to my email here.
Thanks,
Zack Hamm
