I've been developing with PHP for quite some time now, however I've allways used MySQL as a database (when doing php apps with db backends). However, I just got a new job (see my sig :) ) and this place uses nothing but Oracle. I've read the Oracle 8 functions and sort of understand them but I would like to see some examples.... So if anyone who knows both MySQL and Oracle functions well could convert the following code from using MySQL to using Oracle it would give me a great understanding of it...thanks: -- Code -- $dbConn = @mysql_connect("host", "user", "password"); mysql_select_db("myDb", $dbConn); $sql = "Select * from bigtable order by somerow"; if($result = mysql_query($sql, $dbConn)) { if($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { do { echo "$row[somerow] and $row[thisrow]"; } while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)); } } @mysql_close($dbConn); Thanks :) -- James Atkinson ----------------------------------------------------------------- James Atkinson 100world Technical Developer 512-1529 West 6th Avenue phone: +1-604-637-8122 Vancouver, BC, V6J 1R1 fax: +1-604-742-1770 Canada email: james.atkinson@100world.com http://www.100world.com +---------------------------------------------------------------+ | This message may contain confidential and/or privileged | | information.
