Yes, I know this isn't a JavaScript mailing list, but I'm trying to find the answer for this one for almost 3 hours now, and nothing. Since this is probably something that already happened to some of you guys, I'm asking here.
Ok, I have a form in a page, and I want to target the results to a new window. But I want to make the window smaller and with no toolbar, and all that fun stuff. Anyway, so far it works great... in Netscape (windows / solaris). Internet Explorer creates the little window that I want, but it doesn't show anything in there, and then creates another window (big one) with the results of the form.
I was almost certain a tip I found on devshed.com was the answer, but it didn't work.
Here goes the code :
<script language="JavaScript">
<!---
function votaEnquete()
{
windowVar = window.open("blank.html", "_enquetes", "width=420,height=460,top=30,left=30,resizable=no,scrollbars=yes,toolbar=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no");
var set_timeout = setTimeout("this.document.enquetes.submit();", 9000);
}
//-->
</script>
<form name="enquetes" target="_enquetes" method="get" action="enquetes.php">
<input type="hidden" name="cat" value="votar">
<input type="text" name="foo" value="bar">
<input type="button" value="Click here" onClick="votaEnquete();">
</form>
Now I know this is going to be some weird compatability issue between IE / Netscape, but there gotta be a way out of this. I already tried using onSubmit="window.open" or whatever and the same problem came up, that's why I tried to do a timeout on the script, but it didn't change.
Any help would be appreciated,
Joao
