Just an FYI; The Virtuoso Integration Server www.openlinksw.com/virtuoso is
a
SOAP server, and also works quite well with PHP. So, you could write a SOAP
client in PHP, and make RPC calls against the database from there. There is
also a Java SOAP client included in the download for an example.
