Usually a SIGSEGV happens while compiling when:
- your processor is overheated (maybe in overcloking? maybe
a stuck cooler| low `alarm' limits in BIOS ?)
- not enough RAM with small swap partitions
- not enough space on /tmp partition. The compile proccess
takes a considerable temporary space, and it may crush and burn
if it gets no space.
though YMMV.
