textfield vaules not accessable??

I am having this problem: I generate textfields in a loop. The textfields have initial vaules. Then the user can edit the values. The problem is when I cannot get the values after the user edited the textfields. I am using something like this to generate the textfields in the loop: for($i = 0; $i < $loop_count; $i++){ <input type='text' name='fields:$group_id:topic_id[$i]' value='$grade'> } I have another function that needs to get the values from this form and I cannot do it.
