Daniel,
Another way that I have been thinking of lately is to open a small pop
window in the center of the screen which has the focus and a timeout value
you could have an animated gif progress bar to match timeout for example the
following would be the popup window source so you would need a way to action
the submit to open the popup window: (untested)
--snip--
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript">
<!--
window.focus();
function action(url) {
window.opener.location.href = url;
}
setTimeout('action(results.php?query=$_POST['query')',2000);
-->
</script>
</head>
<body>
<img src="progress_bar.gif">
</body>
--snip--
Just an idea,
Regards,
Joseph

ok this is the only way i can do it at the moment
http://sbs.com.au/phptest/search2.php
search for "movie"
u still have to wait on the results end after it has redirected
ignore the word querystring , when i move this to php4 in a few days i'll
use
session variables to store the entire query string, as it might be huge
searching a heap of fields at once.
