Random code snippets

I was wondering if anyone has seen this behavior before. I'm using php to update some webpages. There is an index page with a side menu on the left a place for text on the right. When a user clicks on a menu item I'm calling the page with a page id something like this index.php?pid=2 based on the pid I then include the corresponding html text page. I'm testing on my office computer using php 4.06. This method looks good. But when I transfer to the web server redhat 7.2 php 4.2.2 I get random code snippets inserted into the page.
