I have an interesting problem. I think I have an idea how to solve it,
but I haven't a clue how to implement it :-)
I have various sites sharing an IP address, and I want to allow editing
and other management by connecting over SSL. That is, when you connect
to
http://site.domain.tld/
you get the site as it's usually presented, but hitting
https://site.domain.tld/
will give you all of that plus magic buttons that I'll write in based on
a flag variable set if you're connecting on port 443 and you've entered
the right password and other such.
The problem, of course, is that connecting to https://*.domain.tld will
point me to the "default" (first defined) page instead of the site's
actual page.
Is there a way to have one page as a 'gateway' that displays the proper
page based on the URL that calls it? I have fledgeling ideas for a
couple of approaches but don't really know how to get going...
TIA & HAND
:-D
