Are you using sessions? If so *maybe* (though I > doubt it) look into the session garbage collecting settings in php.ini. No, were not using sessions. The only references I could find to garbage collection had to do with sessions, but the randomness of the delays seem similar to what I would expect if garbage collection was occuring. > Also, is it possible that those really slow pages are being accessed by > someone with a really slow connection, maybe a 33k modem? But I also thought that since the timing is occuring on the server from the start of the page to the end of the page, what effect would the client connection speed have on this? Wouldn't the Apache server buffer the page output? Looking at some of the connections with long times, they are coming from clients half way around the world from us so I thought "ah ha - that's it!", but then I found others with similar poor performance that were coming from local broadband connections. > Other than that how about upgrading apache and PHP? Yes, I was expecting someone to say that... ;) > If you do find out what the problem is I would be happy to learn about > what caused it. No problem. Cheers, Brandon
