run phpinfo(), somewhere at the top of the page there is a mention of php.ini that is being used, edit it to your needs and restart apache. Pavel Janda wrote:
Thank you very much for your help... I thought, that it should be the problem in the value of register_globals, but I had register_globals switched to On and it didn't work... But, where was the problem?? I am feeling a little bit stupid now, but I've upgraded the PHP 4.3 from php 4.0.1 and there was php.ini in directory /etc... now, it is in /usr/local/lib.. and there was the register_global value realy switched to off :o))). So, thank you for your help once more and I am going to cut off my head :o)) Pavel ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Otton" <djo@jawbone.freeserve.co.uk> To: "Pavel Janda" <pavel.janda@vte.cz> Cc: <php-general@lists.php.net> Sent: Thursday, April 24, 2003 9:59 AM Subject: Re: [PHP] GET method doesn't work.

I've just installed PHP 4.3.0 and everything seems to be OK, only the GET method doesn't work. Every variable send via the GET method is empty..

works OK...

Recent versions of PHP (4.2+ I believe) have register_globals set to off by default. Could this be your problem? Try accessing your variable through $_GET instead. <? echo $var; echo $_GET['var']; ?> http://www.php.net/manual/en/security.registerglobals.php Although I would expect an "undefined variable: var" error rather than an empty value.... so it may be another problem.
