This is fine, except that it won't work if the browser has javascript disabled.
Ron, you can send header() anytime as long as you have not already generated any other content
already from the same script.
There is a directive in php.ini to bypass this (output_buffering = On). There is apparently a way to
set this on-the-fly also.
You can also check whether headers have already beem sent using headers_sent() - returns
'true' if they have.
I don't know of any way to send a POST without a button except for using javascript
