There is no var named SUBMIT. You have defined SUBMIT1 and SUBMIT2 in your
form. NAME= will be the var name VALUE= will be the value of that var. Try
these:
<INPUT TYPE=IMAGE SRC="../../../IMAGES/EMPLOYEE_MNGR/BUTTON/SAVECLOSE1.GIF"
NAME="SUBMIT1" VALUE="Save and Close">
<INPUT TYPE=IMAGE SRC="../../../IMAGES/EMPLOYEE_MNGR/BUTTON/SAVE1.GIF"
NAME="SUBMIT2" VALUE="Save">
next page:
echo $_POST['SUBMIT1']; //with register_globals on could be $SUBMIT1
echo $_POST['SUBMIT2']; //with register_globals on could be $SUBMIT2
