Bacisally what I need to do is allow the teachers in my school to logon and pull their students(class list) from the database server and have a check box that they can to check and then when they hit the submit button it gets email to the front office. You this is all apart of our "Getting rid of the Paper Trial" campian. So any help that anyone can give me on this would be great. So thanks for the suggestions.
If this involves the internet and schoolkids, it would be good to read a good book that includes a chapter on security. These kids are damned good in finding holes in your scripts. Quite an investment but worth it is the 'PHP Bible' second edition, by Converse and Park. Did you find out what database runs on your server?

check the username and password from and sql or cold fusion database server? I have been trying to write one in cfml and had no luck with getting it to work. I figured that php would be a good way to go.
Any
help that you can give me would be great. Thanks
hi Richard, in the online PHP manual (http://www.php.net/manual/en/) you can see which databases are supported. SQL is not a database but a database query language (Standard Query Language). Several databases have the word SQL in their name, like MSSQL (MS for Microsoft), MySQL, PostGresSQL etc. I do not see a coldfusion database in the list of supported databases and frankly i doubt whether coldfusion has its own database. I think ColdFusion is a language to connect webpages with databases, just as PHP is. If you want us to check the usename and password, you need to tell us more on how these are stored. Or is it a new project? I recommend doing some basic reading on this subject. Chris
