I want to connect to a ftp-server and have a time-limit when the function should stop if the connection if not established in this time.
I want to do a similar thing, since I'm exec()'ing a whois command and its possible the remote server may hang. Anyone know how to set a time limit for one command, or for the Unix gurus, how can I get whois to exit after 15 seconds? :) Jason -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-general-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-general-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-general-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-general-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net
