PHP not working, giving "undefined variable"

Glory! I recently installed Apache2 on my WindowsXP system. And I'm running the latest PHP version. Everything was working fine but today I noticed something, an error. Now I don't know, I cant recall, if it's since I installed Apache2 or if it just started today. But anyway, here's the deal.. In any script that I provide where I'm using the if(!$submit) to check if the form has been submitted or not, I get the following error : Notice: Undefined variable: submit in D:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\mjs\dir\install.php on line 6 Basically it's giving me a "Notice : Undefined variable" error. Why? I have the Register_Globals turned On. And I never had this problem. I have been using this $submit variable from a long time. How do I rectify this problem? What has happened?
