include() in php 4.0.2

Hi all !
I am facing a problem with include()
I am working on a file in dir include/db/
In this file, I am including conf.inc which is in include/
conf.inc is including several files in subdirs of include.
But PHP 4.0.2 doesn't find them.
Here is the exact error :
Warning: Failed opening './db/pgsql.class' for inclusion
(include_path='.:/usr/local/PHP-4.0.2/lib/php') in
/home/cstar/www/dersite/include/conf.inc on line 31
I have checked :
-I am not in safe mode
-The files are in read permission for Apache
-The path is ok :)
I can't recall meeting this with previous versions of PHP.
Could this be a bug ?
