Hi
I had a similar problem using require() but no one sent a reply.
What it turned out to be was a parse error in one of the required files.
Do any of the files included in the included files ??? requier another
file??
I don't know why it was saying could not open for inclusion instead of
reporting a parse error. It never did in php3.
