session problem (enable-trans-sid)

Hi, my web application requires session management and it worked great with cookies. I don't like cookies so recompiled my php4 module (It's php 4.0.2, so the trans-sid bug is fixed.) with the "enable-trans-sid" option and recompiled Apache as well. Unfortunately session management does'nt work anymore. When I took a look at the value of PHPSESSID in the URL, i realized that with every request a new session is created! This happens with forms and whenever I send parameter with the URL. If I use links without a query_string the PHPSESSID remains the same. Can somebody help me please??? Greetings, Heiko
