is there still a php IRC channel + optional arguments by reference ?

hi, 1.) I just visited #php on EFNET, where some months ago some reasonable very interesting discussions and help was going on, but now it's very much nonsense talk. so maybe there's a new channel ? 2.) i wanted to find out there if it's possible to pass an optional argument by reference to a php function. e.g. function (&$myvar = 0) { .... } actually this syntax doesn't work, so i'd be interested if anyone knows if it's possible ? regards, Bernd mfg, Bernd Huter --------------------------------------------------------------------- C.
