If you are talking about headers created by PHP (4 usually)
then it will not set them automatically if they are set already.
for this is enough to write your own charset in header of the page
and PHP will not touch them.
Example:
if you need to have it different in each page then just use something like
this:
if (substr ($SCRIPT_NAME, 0, 9) == "/japanese") {
$myCharSet ="Shift_JIS";
$myDCLang ='JA';
} else {
$myCharSet ="iso-8859-1";
$myDCLang ='EN';
}
include the code above in your congif file and on every page have
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=<? echo
$myCharSet; ?>">
<title>Title</title>
</head>
in this way only the pages in folder /japanese/ will have charset different
from the default one which is set (see above) at english...
is that what you asked?
