I don't really understand if you have cron installed or not, but if you do,
why not fire off lynx (lynx http://www.website.com/ >
/dev/null ) your web
address once per hour. Then you use the PHP parser instead of the binary
executable as it seems you are unable to do.
Make sense?
If you don't have cron - you could fire off lynx from another server where
you do have cron running.
