Hi,
I have an application which stores Kerberos tickets in a database, and then
pulls them out when needed for authentication. In order to do this, we need
to put the ticket in a tmp file and set an environment variable (KRB5CCNAME)
in order to inform the application/protocol of the location of the file.
So, I figure I can set the variable with putenv() in a php script each time
a ticket is pulled and used. The only problem is, I'm a little worried
about how this will work with the apache module. Will the variable be
available to all of apache's process? It would be bad if the variable was
visible to each of the php scripts currently running whenever it sets it in
one script. If this happened, random scripts would start trying to use
other peoples' tickets and problems would occur. Of course, this wouldn't
be a problem if there was a very small number of people, but we are planning
on a fairly heavy load. So, my question is, will this work? Will the
variable be globally available to all running scripts, or just the current
one? If it would not work, I am also open to other suggestions from anyone
who is good with Kerberos.
