As far as I know (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong), there's no
limit on the number of recursions. There /is/ a limit on script
execution time (can be disabled) though, and a memory limit can be
enabled as well. Apart from hitting those two (configurable) limits your
script should be able to recurse indefinitely.
A long running recursive script could run into other problems though; it
can exhaust the amount of available memory, hog the CPU or (depending on
the nature of the script) exhaust other system resources as well.
