I had a really bad experience with www.csoft.net. They blew away one of our
MySQL databases, couldn't recover it for us even though we were paying for a
backup level of service, and in general seemed shaky on MySQL administration
issues although they didn't offer an option where we could administer it
ourselves. They would pretty frequently make unannounced configuration
changes that broke our sites in one way or another. We could have dealt
with these changes if we knew they were coming, but we had to learn about
them the same way all our users did.
What made us finally give up on them was a DB admin snafu that led to our
DB-driven sites being down for a week or so, during which it was really hard
to get a response from them. So we took the DB data we had left and moved
on to www.webpipe.net, and are much happier now.
Admittedly, csoft was very cheap, and we probably got the level of customer
service we paid for. Csoft might still be a win for the price-conscious if
you can roll with some unpredictability and you're not entrusting them with
any data you want to keep.
