PHP is a "server side" scripting language. That means it runs on the
*server* and its output is sent to the client. This means that once your
code runs and sends output to the browser, that's it.
Javascript, on the other hand, is a *client side* scripting language (in
this case). To run code on the client that would give the results you want,
you'd have to use Javascript.
