Boy, I'm THIS CLOSE to finding the answer in my textbooks, but none quite go
the distance.
I have a text blob column that I need indexed so I can perform SELECT's with
pattern matching within the text. I'm told on one site that I can index a
text blob with FULLTEXT(columnname) with an ALTER command, but no example is
given. I need to alter a table called 'crews' and fulltext index the column
'category'
The closest I can come from examples is:
alter table crews add cat fulltext(category);
Clearly, that's wrong. I'm attempting to create a new column named 'cat'
that is a fulltext index of category.
Thanks,
Don Smith
