php3_auto_prepend_file

I've been trying to use an .htaccess file to force an include on all files in a certain directory. The best thing I've seen was a post on the php list to use some of the php.ini commands in a .htaccess file, so I've tried the following in an .htaccess file php3_auto_prepend_file /path/to/my/file/auth.php3 also have tried php3_auto_prepend_file "/path/to/my/file/auth.php3" and PHP_value auto_prepend_file "/path/to/my/file/auth.php3" however, when I try this, any attempts at loading the page result in this error: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request Any suggestions ?
