Hi,
I wonder if there is any smart way gathering info like screen color depth
and resolution with PHP?
I suppose there aren't any core functions for that in PHP, but I was
thinking about some sort of a mixture of JavaScript and PHP. More
specifically, the problem would be how to transmit the data JavaScript has
collected to PHP. I think that cookies or GET could do this, but this isn't
the best way in this case because the users that come to the page I'm
building, don't usually get any deeper to the site than the front page.
Therefore there would be no way to actually save the data gathered by
Javascript.
In my case, would some sort of 'blank' self-refreshing page before entering
the main site be the only solution or can anyone of you gurus make anything
better up? The idea of having one extra page opening every time a user
enters the site doesn't sound too inviting ;)
cheers,
Markus
